More than just Sport

Autumn is coming, Berlin is running! 15. and 16. September 2018 the German capital invites sport fans to the Berlin Marathon 2018. 42 km through the city and 40,000 participants from 120 countries – Berlin Marathon is one of the sport highlights of the year. But the BMW Marathon is always more than just sports: there are many activities not just for the participants, but also for the spectators!

The Course

The start and finish lines of the BMW Marathon 2018 is located at the Straße des 17. Juni. The best places for spectators on the course are the Victory Column, the Federal Chancellery and Reichstag, the Friedrichstadtpalast, the Platz am Wilden Eber, the Gedächtniskirche, the Potsdamer Platz, the Straße Unter den Linden and the Brandenburg Gate. On Saturday will take place the Mini-Marathon and the Bambini Run. The main race will start on Sunday at 9.15 a.m.

Music and Literature

The Literature Marathon is a traditional part of the Berlin Marathon. The event will take place on 9 September 2018. The idea is: the well-known runners read from their own books. 30. Literature Marathon presents works by Volker Schöder, Daniela Preiß, Ulrich Knoll and Achim Achilles. Admission to the Literature Marathon is free. The runners and spectators of the BMW Berlin Marathon 2018 can also enjoy Music Marathon – along the route of the race more than 80 Bands will play live!
