From 10 August till 02 September 2018 the German capital invites all dance lovers to the largest annual dance festival in Germany Dance in August. The international Festival offers to discover the full range of contemporary dance. Numerous world and German premieres, public discussions, films and parties: it is an unforgettable event not only for the audience but for professionals as well.

 

Stars of the Contemporary Dance

The festival Dance in August is the biggest meeting of the dance theatres: it brings together all the most important artists and groups of contemporary dance and helps visitors to dive into the colorful dance world. International stars, newcomers and choreographers of the Berlin scene provide fantastic festival weeks. The main venues of the Dance in August 2018 are the Hebbel am Ufer Theater (HAU) and the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. So, let’s meet in Berlin in August!

 

Opening Day

At the beginning of the festival on 10 August will be presented “Trois Grandes Fugues” by the Ballet de l’Opera de Lyon. Three of the most famous choreographers of the contemporary dance world – Lucinda Childs, Maguy Marin and Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker – provide very different interpretations of Beethoven’s String Quartet “Große Fuge”. And it will be really great and unforgettable performance!
