The end of the division of Germany
3 October in Berlin takes place a large festival – 26th anniversary of German Unity. The Festival commemorates the fall of the Berlin wall on 9 November 1989 and the German reunification almost a year later, on 20 September 1990. 2015 was a jubilee. 25 years is a nice date, but 26th anniversary of German Unity will be celebrated fantastic as well!
Celebrations for everybody
The Unification is significant not only for the history of Germany, it is important for the whole Europe as a symbol of the end of the Cold war. So, the day of the unity and the largest national holiday have to appeal everybody. Around the Brandenburg Gate and Straße des 17. Juni one can find activities for the entire family. Children are welcomed to discover Germany in a playful way. Adults can learn about the daily tasks of the German armed forces, the police, the fire brigade and the voluntary organizations. A big wheel offers a great view over the Tiergarten. Live music, lectures, beer, parades and karaoke performances will help to escape from everyday routine.
