Festival for Contemporary Music
20 to 29 March 2020 come to Berlin and immerse yourself in the diverse world of contemporary music: the festival MaerzMusik 2020 takes place in the capital. It will be a contrasting panorama of modern music. The diverse currents and styles, the renowned artists from all over the world and works of younger musical “immigrants” – all of this can be discovered within the framework of the festival.

History and Time
The main theme of the festival 2019 was history. Historiography, understanding of history, the influence of history – these topics were in the focus of MaerzMusik last year. In 2020 MaerzMusik revolves around a simple idea: the beginning of time. Creation myths or scientific theories try to explain what we cannot know. Perhaps, the music can show where the beginning of time is?
