Theater fans meet

In Berlin! From 05th till 21st May the German capital invites all theater lovers to the theatre festival Berliner Theatertreffen 2017. The world’s famous festival of German-language performances reflects achievements of the modern German dramatic art. An independent Jury selects 10 the most remarkable theatre pieces of the season and theatre makers, journalists and theatre-goers from all over the world rate this theatre event in Berlin!

Theatrical Language

German theatre work is diverse, and this diversity will be presented in Berlin. Installations, music and puppet play, play market, the International theatrical forum, workshops, seminars and discussions on the theme of modern theatre and current social, political and economic issues – all of this you can discover during Berliner Theatertreffen 2017. So, Theatertreffen is much more than just performances, it is the highlight of the theatre season!

Temple of the Muses

Melpomene, the Muse of Theater, found a new home, and it is the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. To enjoy the theatre in all its facets you have almost three weeks. And do not forget to attend award ceremonies, premiere parties and concerts – they are also an integral part of the theatre festival.
