Emotions in Digital Culture
Are you thinking about the problems of a society shaped by the media? Want to know which role emotions and empathy play in digital culture? Then visit the festival for media art and digital culture transmediale 2019. 31 January – 3 February 2019 artists, media artists, media activists, designers, and other creative people meet in Berlin at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt to find a new artistic vision in the development of modern technologies.
“What moves you?”
It is a focal point of the next festival. And it’s not just about an emotional reaction, but also about digital aesthetics. For the first time in many years, transmediale has no title, this means that the festival will focus on practical implementations rather than verbal formulations. Workshop program starts on 29th January, but that’s not all. This year transmediale presents new activities: Student Forum and Study Circles. Come to Berlin and discover art, culture, and technology – it will be an unforgettable experience!
The other events of the festival are keynotes, performances, and short film screenings. Everyone can find something interesting here: performance between Kabuki theatre and pop concert, films about contemporary political and social problems, discussions about love and self-liberation… This year the participants are Shaka McGlottens, Marija Brigitta Kuster, Bozinovska Jones, Jackie Wang, Robin Vanbesien, Ben Anderson, Rory Pilgrim Carolina, García Cataño and Rebecca Coleman.
